We also work very closely with the Consulate General of Ireland, GAA Club and the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. We hope to see you at one of our events soon.
Derek is the current president of le Chéile, he lives in Shanghai with his wife and daughter, and is head of projects with PM Group.
Una and her family moved to Shanghai in 2015. Previous to this she worked in the community education sector in Ireland. She is a native of Kilkenny and has lived in the UK, Japan and now China. Here in Shanghai she is enjoying learning Mandarin and soaking up the diverse opportunities that the city offers.
Deirdre first came to Shanghai in September 2011, when she was a student to study Chinese for a year in Shanghai University. After finishing University in Ireland, she returned to Shanghai and now works for PM Group in the marketing department.
Catherine came to Shanghai in August 2012 with her husband and son. She has been studying Chinese in Jiaotong University and her second son was born here in Shanghai. Now with two small boys, finding time to study is proving tricky. "I'm involved with Le Chéile because sometimes I like talking about house prices and the rain...and who else could you do that with but other Irish people?"
Lisa Pan is a Shanghainese member of our committee. She is a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology and lived in Ireland for 8 years. Currently, Lisa works for University of Limerick in Shanghai.
Joanne first came to Shanghai in September 2013 with her husband and then 3 year old daughter and are living in the former french concession. "I joined Le Chéile to keep a sense of our Irishness alive, particularly for our young daughter and to share our experiences of life in Shanghai with others who are connected to Ireland."
My name is Noelle Armstrong,I came to Shanghai 7 years ago with my Husband David.We are the proud parents of a beautiful but cheeky little girl Xi Tong. I have worked with a lot of charities here in Shanghai with the main one being the Baobei charity.I look forward to meeting you all at some mad Irish event.
